The Director of Engineering will shape how engineering teams operate, how systems are designed, and how technology decisions align with long-term business strategy.

This is a highly visible leadership role for a seasoned engineering leader who thrives in complex environments and can balance people leadership, architecture, execution, and cross-functional partnership.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Engineering Leadership: Lead multiple engineering teams responsible for core platforms, services, and enterprise-grade applications.

  • Delivery & Execution: Ensure predictable, high-quality delivery through strong planning, prioritization, and engineering management practices.

  • Technical Oversight: Partner with architects and senior engineers to guide system design, scalability, reliability, and performance.

  • Organizational Scaling: Design team structures, hiring plans, and career frameworks to support growth and retention of top engineering talent.

  • Operational Excellence: Establish metrics for engineering health, delivery velocity, quality, and reliability.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product, Infrastructure, Security, and Data teams to align execution with strategic objectives.

  • Risk & Reliability: Support incident management, technical debt prioritization, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Mentorship & Development: Coach engineering managers and senior engineers, building a strong leadership pipeline.

Job Qualifications and Requirements

  • 12+ years of professional engineering experience, with 5+ years in senior engineering leadership roles.

  • Proven success leading engineering organizations in cloud-based, enterprise-scale, or AI-driven environments.

  • Strong understanding of modern software architecture, distributed systems, and development best practices.

  • Experience managing multiple teams and leaders across geographies.

  • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with Product and business stakeholders.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required; advanced degree preferred.

  • Provide technical leadership during acquisitions, integrations, and large-scale transformations.

  • Influence enterprise-wide standards for engineering excellence, security, and reliability.

  • Enable scalable growth through disciplined engineering processes and governance.

Working Conditions

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $210,000 – $330,000

  • Performance Bonus: Annual incentive based on delivery and business outcomes
