Job Description

About the Role

Automation is no longer about task replacement; it is about re-architecting how modern enterprises operate at scale. We are seeking an Automation Engineer to design, build, and scale intelligent automation solutions that power mission-critical systems across a highly complex, global organization.

This role sits at the intersection of engineering, operations, data, and AI-enabled platforms. You will be responsible for creating automation frameworks that increase system reliability, accelerate delivery cycles, eliminate manual friction, and enable teams to focus on high-value innovation.
Unlike traditional automation roles focused on scripts or isolated workflows, this position is designed for engineers who think in systems, platforms, and long-term scalability.

You will collaborate with Cloud Engineering, DevOps, Security, Product, and Enterprise Operations teams to automate infrastructure, application delivery pipelines, business workflows, and operational monitoring. Your work will directly impact uptime, cost efficiency, security posture, and organizational velocity across the enterprise.

This is an opportunity to help shape the automation backbone of a modern, AI-forward organization where automation is a strategic capability, not an afterthought.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable automation solutions across infrastructure, application, and operational domains.

  • Build automation frameworks for provisioning, configuration management, deployment, and environment orchestration.

  • Develop intelligent workflows integrating cloud platforms, APIs, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring systems.

  • Partner with DevOps and Platform teams to automate release processes, reliability workflows, and incident response.

  • Implement automation to improve security posture, compliance validation, and operational governance.

  • Leverage scripting, configuration-as-code, and infrastructure-as-code to standardize environments at scale.

  • Optimize automation for performance, resiliency, observability, and cost efficiency.

  • Evaluate and integrate emerging automation, AI, and orchestration tools into enterprise platforms.

  • Document automation architecture, workflows, and best practices for enterprise adoption.

  • Support continuous improvement by identifying manual bottlenecks and designing automation-first solutions.

Job Qualifications and Requirements

  • 6–10+ years of experience in automation engineering, DevOps, platform engineering, or systems engineering.

  • Strong hands-on experience with automation tools, scripting languages, and orchestration frameworks.

  • Expertise in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and distributed systems.

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and configuration management platforms.

  • Strong understanding of APIs, system integrations, and event-driven architectures.

  • Experience automating operational workflows, monitoring, and reliability processes.

  • Solid understanding of security, access controls, and compliance considerations in automated environments.

Personal Capabilities and Qualifications

  • Systems thinker who designs automation for long-term scale, not short-term fixes.

  • Highly analytical with strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Proactive engineer who identifies inefficiencies and builds solutions independently.

  • Strong collaborator comfortable working across engineering, operations, and product teams.

  • Comfortable operating in complex, high-availability environments.

  • Clear communicator able to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Strategic Support

  • Support enterprise digital transformation and platform modernization initiatives.

  • Enable operational excellence by reducing manual effort, errors, and recovery times.

  • Partner with leadership to identify automation opportunities that unlock scalability and efficiency.

  • Contribute to long-term platform strategy and automation standards across the organization.

  • Support innovation initiatives through experimentation with AI-assisted automation and orchestration tools.

Working Conditions

  • A hybrid work environment with collaboration across distributed teams and time zones.

  • High-impact role supporting mission-critical systems and enterprise platforms.

  • Occasional off-hours support for major releases or infrastructure events.

  • Fast-paced, engineering-driven culture focused on reliability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
