About the Role

At enterprise scale, platforms are not just technology assets; they are operational backbones that enable growth, reliability, and customer trust. We are seeking a Director of Platform Operations to lead the operational excellence, stability, and scalability of mission-critical digital platforms serving internal teams and external customers across multiple regions.

This role is designed for a senior leader who understands how to run platforms as products, balancing uptime, performance, cost efficiency, security, and continuous improvement. You will own day-to-day platform operations while driving modernization, automation, and reliability engineering practices that allow the organization to scale without disruption.

Partnering closely with Engineering, Product, Security, and Infrastructure leaders, you will establish operating models, governance, and performance metrics that ensure platforms are resilient, observable, and aligned with enterprise priorities. You will also play a central role in incident management, risk mitigation, and operational readiness for new releases and transformations.

This is not a ticket-management role. It is a mandate to build platform operations as a strategic enterprise capability, one that delivers reliability, speed, and confidence at scale.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end platform operations for enterprise digital platforms and services.

  • Ensure high availability, performance, scalability, and operational resilience of platforms.

  • Establish operating models, SLAs, SLOs, and reliability metrics (uptime, latency, error rates).

  • Drive adoption of automation, observability, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.

  • Partner with Engineering and Product teams on release readiness and lifecycle support.

  • Own incident response, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Manage capacity planning, cost optimization, and platform performance forecasting.

  • Ensure platforms meet security, compliance, and governance standards.

  • Build and lead a high-performing platform operations and reliability team.

  • Communicate platform health, risks, and improvements to executive leadership.


Job Qualifications and Requirements

  • 12–15+ years of experience in platform operations, infrastructure, or technology operations leadership.

  • Proven success operating large-scale, cloud-native or hybrid enterprise platforms.

  • Strong understanding of cloud technologies, distributed systems, and reliability engineering.

  • Experience implementing automation, monitoring, and incident management frameworks.

  • Demonstrated ability to partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, and Security teams.

  • Strong financial and operational acumen related to platform cost and performance.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced technical or business degree preferred.

  • Support M&A integration and platform consolidation efforts.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $245,000 – $388,000
