About the Role

Sustainability has evolved from a reporting function into a core business strategy that drives resilience, efficiency, brand trust, and long-term value creation. We are seeking a Director of Sustainability to lead enterprise sustainability strategy across a global organization operating at scale.

This role is designed for a senior leader who understands how to connect environmental and social responsibility with commercial performance and operational excellence. The Director of Sustainability will own enterprise sustainability initiatives, including climate strategy, emissions reduction, responsible sourcing, and ESG integration across business units.

You will partner closely with executive leadership, operations, supply chain, finance, legal, and investor relations to embed sustainability into how the company operates and grows. Your mandate is to move sustainability from isolated initiatives into a measurable, enterprise-wide capability that supports regulatory readiness, investor confidence, and competitive differentiation.

This is not a communications or compliance-only role. It is a mandate to build sustainability as a strategic operating discipline that delivers real business impact.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Define and execute an enterprise sustainability and ESG strategy aligned with business objectives

  • Lead climate, emissions, and environmental impact initiatives across operations and supply chain

  • Establish sustainability goals, metrics, and performance tracking frameworks

  • Integrate sustainability considerations into enterprise planning and decision-making

  • Partner with operations and procurement on responsible sourcing and efficiency initiatives

  • Oversee sustainability reporting, disclosures, and regulatory readiness

  • Engage internal stakeholders to embed sustainability into daily operations

  • Monitor global sustainability trends, regulations, and best practices

  • Present sustainability progress and recommendations to executive leadership

  • Build and lead sustainability teams and cross-functional working groups


Job Qualifications and Requirements

  • 10 to 15 plus years of experience in sustainability, ESG, environmental strategy, or related roles

  • Proven experience leading sustainability initiatives within large or complex organizations

  • Strong understanding of climate strategy, environmental impact, and ESG frameworks

  • Experience partnering with operations, supply chain, finance, and executive leadership

  • Ability to translate sustainability goals into measurable business outcomes

  • Strong analytical, reporting, and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred

  • Advise leadership on emerging sustainability risks and opportunities

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $230,000 – $365,000
