Job Description

About the Role

Exceptional organizations are built not just by strategy, but by the experiences they create for the people behind them. Every conversation, process, and interaction defines how employees feel, grow, and perform and that’s where the Director of Employee Experience makes a transformative impact.

We’re seeking a visionary leader to design and execute a holistic employee experience strategy that strengthens connection, culture, and engagement across the global enterprise. This is a senior leadership role reporting directly to the Chief People Officer, with influence spanning across HR, Operations, Technology, and Corporate Communications.

The Director will lead initiatives that enhance workplace culture, improve retention, and drive meaningful employee satisfaction through data-driven insights and human-centered design. From onboarding and career development to well-being and inclusion, you’ll shape programs that ensure every employee feels valued, empowered, and supported throughout their journey.

The ideal candidate is part strategist, part storyteller, and part architect — someone who understands that great cultures are designed with intention. You’ll lead with empathy, drive with analytics, and inspire with purpose, helping the organization become one of the most admired employers in its industry.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage a comprehensive Employee Experience (EX) strategy aligned with business objectives.

  • Partner with HR, Operations, and IT to create seamless, technology-enabled employee experiences across all touchpoints.

  • Lead programs in onboarding, recognition, engagement, DEI, and well-being, ensuring inclusivity and equity.

  • Use data analytics, pulse surveys, and feedback tools to measure engagement and continuously refine initiatives.

  • Foster collaboration between leadership and employees through listening frameworks, culture workshops, and change enablement.

  • Oversee the execution of internal communication strategies that strengthen transparency and belonging.

  • Develop playbooks and toolkits that enable managers to enhance local team experiences globally.

  • Benchmark employee experience practices against industry standards and identify opportunities for innovation.

  • Lead cross-functional task forces to address key culture or engagement challenges.

Qualifications: What We’re Looking For

  • 10+ years of experience in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or Employee Experience leadership, ideally within large or global organizations.

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Psychology, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).

  • Demonstrated success in leading engagement, retention, and culture transformation programs.

  • Deep understanding of HR systems, digital tools, and analytics that enhance employee experience (e.g., Workday, Qualtrics, CultureAmp).

  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills with the ability to influence senior executives.

  • Strategic thinker with proven ability to connect data insights to people-focused initiatives.

  • Strong background in change management, DEI, and leadership coaching.

Strategic Support

  • Serve as the principal advisor to executive leadership on culture, engagement, and workforce sentiment.

  • Align employee experience programs with the company’s purpose, values, and long-term people strategy.

  • Partner with IT and digital transformation teams to advance HR technology adoption and automation.

  • Support the global HR strategy by ensuring all regions experience a consistent and empowering workplace culture.

Working Conditions

  • Hybrid/remote flexibility with occasional travel to global offices and leadership summits.

  • Dynamic, fast-paced environment driven by innovation and people-first leadership.

  • Cross-functional collaboration with HR, Communications, and Corporate Strategy teams.

  • A continuous learning culture that encourages growth and development.

Essential Job Function

The Director of Employee Experience is responsible for defining and elevating the moments that matter in an employee’s journey — ensuring every person feels seen, supported, and inspired to do their best work every day.

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Certification in Employee Experience (EX), Change Management (PROSCI), or Coaching.

  • Experience leading EX programs in tech, consulting, or high-growth global companies.

  • A proven ability to drive measurable improvements in engagement or retention.

  • Passion for data-informed storytelling and digital experience design.
