About the Role

Data science has moved beyond experimentation; it now sits at the center of how modern enterprises compete, scale, and differentiate. We are seeking a Head of Data Science to define and lead the enterprise data science strategy for a global organization operating at the intersection of AI, advanced analytics, and digital platforms.

This role is designed for a senior leader who can transform data science into a core business capability, driving measurable impact across product innovation, customer experience, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making. The Head of Data Science will lead a highly skilled, multi-disciplinary organization spanning machine learning, applied AI, experimentation, statistical modeling, and decision intelligence.

You will partner closely with Product, Engineering, Technology, Finance, and Executive Leadership to ensure data science initiatives are tightly aligned with business priorities and embedded directly into platforms, workflows, and operating models. This leader will own the end-to-end lifecycle from strategy and model development to deployment, governance, and value realization at scale.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the enterprise data science and applied AI strategy aligned with long-term business objectives.

  • Lead large-scale machine learning and advanced analytics initiatives across product, operations, and customer domains.

  • Oversee the design, development, deployment, and lifecycle management of predictive and prescriptive models.

  • Establish best practices for experimentation, model governance, explainability, and ethical AI.

  • Partner with Product and Engineering to embed data science into core platforms and customer-facing solutions.

  • Drive value realization through measurable business outcomes, ROI tracking, and executive reporting.

  • Build scalable data science operating models, including tooling, workflows, and cross-functional collaboration.

  • Recruit, develop, and retain top-tier data science, ML engineering, and analytics talent globally.

  • Guide prioritization of initiatives based on strategic impact, feasibility, and enterprise readiness.

  • Communicate insights, tradeoffs, and recommendations to C-suite and board-level stakeholders.

Job Qualifications and Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in data science, advanced analytics, machine learning, or AI leadership roles.

  • Proven track record leading enterprise-scale data science organizations within large, complex environments.

  • Deep expertise in machine learning, statistical modeling, experimentation, and decision science.

  • Experience operationalizing AI models into production systems at scale.

  • Strong understanding of modern data architectures, cloud platforms, and MLOps frameworks.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex analytical insights into business strategy.

  • Experience partnering with senior executives and influencing enterprise-level decisions.

  • Partner with Finance on forecasting, scenario modeling, and long-term value creation initiatives.

  • Influence corporate investment decisions through advanced analytics and predictive insights.

  • Support M&A due diligence, integration, and data capability assessment.

Working Conditions

  • Hybrid executive working environment with global team leadership responsibilities.

  • Regular collaboration across time zones with senior leaders, product teams, and engineering organizations.

  • Occasional domestic and international travel for leadership forums, strategy sessions, and innovation summits.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $380,000 – $430,000
