About the Role
As technology platforms scale globally, technical operations move far beyond uptime and delivery; they become a strategic capability that enables speed, resilience, security, and sustainable growth. We are seeking a Head of Technical Operations to lead the operational foundation of a large, complex, technology-driven enterprise.
This role is designed for a senior technical leader who can architect and operate high-availability, high-performance systems at scale. You will oversee the operational lifecycle of platforms, infrastructure, production systems, and technical services that support millions of users, mission-critical applications, and global business operations.
Operating at the intersection of Engineering, Infrastructure, Security, Product, and Enterprise Operations, you will build operating models that balance innovation with reliability. Your mandate includes strengthening operational rigor, driving automation, improving observability, and embedding resilience across cloud, on-prem, and hybrid environments.
The Head of Technical Operations will be a key voice in executive decision-making, ensuring that growth, transformation, and innovation are underpinned by systems that are secure, scalable, and built for continuous evolution. This is a highly visible leadership role with ownership of platforms that define the company’s ability to deliver at a global scale.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end technical operations across infrastructure, production systems, platform reliability, and service delivery.

Define and execute a multi-year technical operations strategy aligned with business growth, product scale, and enterprise risk tolerance.

Own availability, performance, reliability, incident response, and disaster recovery across global systems.

Drive automation, observability, and operational intelligence to reduce manual intervention and improve system resilience.

Partner with Engineering to embed reliability, scalability, and operability into system design and delivery.

Establish operational governance, escalation frameworks, and incident management standards.

Oversee capacity planning, performance optimization, and cost efficiency across cloud and infrastructure environments.

Lead operational readiness for launches, migrations, and large-scale transformation initiatives.

Build, lead, and scale global technical operations teams with strong leadership depth.

Present operational performance, risks, and investment needs to executive leadership.
Job Qualifications and Requirements

15+ years of experience in technical operations, infrastructure leadership, or large-scale production environments.

Proven success operating complex, distributed systems within global technology or digital platform organizations.

Strong background in cloud infrastructure, reliability engineering, automation, and modern DevOps practices.

Experience leading global teams across multiple time zones and operating models.

Deep understanding of incident management, resiliency engineering, and service reliability frameworks.

Strong financial and operational acumen, including capacity modeling and cost optimization.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required; advanced degree preferred.

Partner with Security, Compliance, and Risk teams to ensure operational integrity and resilience.

Contribute to long-term technology investment planning and infrastructure strategy.

Support M&A integration and large-scale system modernization efforts.
