Job Description

About the Role

We are a global technology and digital infrastructure organization operating at enterprise scale, supporting tens of thousands of employees, complex cloud and on-prem environments, and multi-billion-dollar technology investments across regions. Our technology ecosystem spans cloud platforms, enterprise applications, end-user computing, data centers, SaaS portfolios, and emerging technologies.

The IT Asset Manager plays a mission-critical role in ensuring transparency, governance, and value realization across the entire IT asset lifecycle. This role is not administrative; it is strategic. You will partner with senior technology leaders, procurement, finance, cybersecurity, and audit teams to ensure assets are accurately tracked, optimized, compliant, and aligned with business outcomes.

This position sits at the intersection of financial stewardship, operational excellence, risk management, and digital transformation. The successful candidate will lead enterprise-wide IT Asset Management (ITAM) practices that directly influence cost optimization, compliance posture, and executive decision-making.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Own and govern the end-to-end IT Asset Management lifecycle, including planning, acquisition, deployment, maintenance, optimization, and retirement of hardware, software, and cloud assets.

  • Establish and maintain a single source of truth for IT assets across global environments using enterprise ITAM and CMDB platforms.

  • Lead software license management and compliance initiatives, including audits, vendor true-ups, and contract reconciliation.

  • Drive cost optimization strategies by identifying underutilized assets, redundant licenses, and opportunities for consolidation.

  • Partner closely with Procurement, Finance, Legal, Security, and Infrastructure teams to align asset strategy with financial controls and risk frameworks.

  • Develop and enforce ITAM policies, standards, and governance models aligned with enterprise and regulatory requirements.

  • Provide executive-level reporting and insights on asset utilization, risk exposure, and investment efficiency.

  • Support M&A activities by assessing inherited assets, contracts, and integration risks.

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to mature ITAM capabilities, automation, and data quality across the organization.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for audits, regulatory reviews, and internal risk assessments.

Job Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Finance, or a related discipline.

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in IT Asset Management, Software Asset Management (SAM), or Technology Financial Management within large, complex organizations.

  • Proven experience managing assets across hybrid environments (cloud, SaaS, on-prem, end-user computing).

  • Hands-on experience with enterprise ITAM/SAM tools (e.g., ServiceNow ITAM, Flexera, Snow, or equivalent).

  • Strong understanding of software licensing models, vendor agreements, and compliance frameworks.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and operate within matrixed, global organizations.

  • Experience supporting audits and regulatory compliance initiatives.

Personal Capabilities and Qualifications

  • Strategic thinker with a strong business and financial mindset.

  • Highly analytical, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.

  • Confident communicator capable of engaging executives and technical teams alike.

  • Detail-oriented while maintaining a big-picture, enterprise perspective.

  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving structure in evolving environments.

  • Strong ownership mentality with a bias toward accountability and results.

Strategic Support

  • Enable executive decision-making through accurate asset intelligence and financial visibility.

  • Support enterprise cost-management and technology investment optimization initiatives.

  • Strengthen the organization’s risk, compliance, and audit readiness posture.

  • Contribute to digital transformation efforts by ensuring scalable, transparent asset governance.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to technology and business leaders on asset strategy and lifecycle planning.

Working Conditions
