Job Description

About the Role

The Managing Director role sits at the intersection of enterprise strategy, operational leadership, and financial performance. We are seeking a Managing Director to lead a significant business segment within a complex, global organization operating at scale across multiple regions, customers, and product or service lines.

This role is designed for an executive with full-spectrum leadership capability, someone who can set direction, drive execution, and deliver sustained results while navigating market complexity, competitive pressure, and organizational scale. The Managing Director will own business performance end-to-end, including growth strategy, profitability, operational execution, talent leadership, and client or stakeholder relationships.

Beyond day-to-day leadership, this executive will shape the long-term trajectory of the business, aligning market strategy, investment priorities, and operating models with corporate objectives. The role requires a leader who can operate confidently at the board and C-suite levels while also driving accountability deep into the organization.

This is not a stewardship role; it is a mandate to build, transform, and scale a critical part of the enterprise, delivering measurable impact on revenue, margin, customer value, and organizational strength.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Own full P&L responsibility for a major business unit, region, or portfolio.

  • Define and execute a multi-year business strategy aligned with corporate growth and transformation objectives.

  • Lead revenue growth initiatives, including market expansion, client strategy, pricing, and portfolio optimization.

  • Drive operational excellence across delivery, cost structure, productivity, and performance management.

  • Build and lead senior leadership teams, ensuring strong succession planning and talent development.

  • Establish clear performance metrics, accountability frameworks, and executive operating rhythms.

  • Strengthen key client, partner, and stakeholder relationships at executive and board levels.

  • Oversee investment decisions, capital allocation, and resource prioritization.

  • Identify transformation opportunities across operating models, technology enablement, and organizational design.

  • Represent the business internally and externally as a senior executive leader.

Job Qualifications and Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in large-scale enterprises or highly complex organizations.

  • Proven success as a senior executive with P&L ownership and accountability for growth and profitability.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead multi-region, multi-discipline teams at scale.

  • Strong strategic planning and execution background, including transformation or turnaround experience.

  • Deep financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasts, and investment decisions.

  • Track record of building trusted relationships with executive stakeholders and boards.

  • Experience operating in fast-paced, competitive, and evolving markets.

Personal Capabilities and Qualifications

  • Enterprise-level strategic thinker with strong execution discipline.

  • Confident, credible executive presence with the ability to influence at the highest levels.

  • Decisive, resilient leader comfortable with ambiguity and complex decision-making.

  • Strong people leader who attracts, develops, and retains top executive talent.

  • Highly analytical, commercially minded, and outcome-focused.

  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to align diverse stakeholders.

Strategic Support

  • Serve as a core member of the enterprise executive leadership team.

  • Partner closely with the CEO, CFO, and Board on strategy, performance, and long-term value creation.

  • Support corporate transformation initiatives, portfolio strategy, and growth investments.

  • Provide leadership during periods of change, expansion, or restructuring.

  • Contribute to enterprise-wide governance, risk management, and strategic planning cycles.

Working Conditions

  • Hybrid executive work environment with global scope and accountability.
